When I first heard Florence and the Machine last year, I have to admit I wasn’t impressed. Her Kiss with a Fist was dull, monotonous, and pretty reflective of everything else that existed at the time. It was with great surprise when I heard this year’s Rabbit Heart, which I instantly loved. The opening and closing tracks from album ‘Lungs’ are definite classics, but the middle provides a slightly more upbeat and shambolic feel than those songs that bookend them. Florence Welch’s beautiful voice transcends and juxtaposes the blusey, and raucous, rock ‘n’ roll, Girl With One Eye. Wholly Brilliant.
