All these hiphop collaborations recently made me listen to Kanye West championed Mr Hudson. Listening to Supernova, it occurred to me that this voice sounded instantly familiar, and infact it could be the same Mr. Hudson that I remember hearing demos of, about three or four years ago, under the moniker suffix ‘& The Library’. Quelle surprise indeed, and what a change. I remember the reggae-altpop of ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ where Jason Mraz was a closer cousin than Kanye West.

The change is a welcome progression, but listening back to the old material, a nostalgic moment can’t help but occurr. This 2006 version of Bread & Roses shows Mr. Hudson in that rather chilled downtempo, reggae pop that I liked all those years ago. Enjoy.
